Believe it or not, there is actually one risk of obesity that seems to get everyone's attention. In the youth centered culture that we live in, people seem to get very concerned at the idea that obesity actually accelerates the rate at which you age (wrinkles and hair loss...). According to a recent study overweight related medical expenses accounted for 9.1 percent of total U.S. medical expenditures in 1998. Approximately half of these costs were paid by Medicaid and Medicare (Tax payer dollars). I wonder what it is costing our nation nearly 10 years later in 2007...
