A System Vs. Random Acts of Weight Loss


I can pretty much sum-up the mindset of most fat, out of shape individuals who've finally made the shocking "breakthrough" discovery that maybe, just maybe it's time they shed a few pounds.

That mindset goes something like this...

Show me the secret, the "magic pill" or the cool trick that will allow me to effortlessly, without breaking a sweat, lose it overnight.

The obvious response...

Did you gain those nasty, heaping rolls of fat "overnight"?

Not unless someone snuck in your room while you were sleeping and hooked you up to a special doopie-poopie fat machine that was specifically designed to instantly place hoards of lard on your stomach.

And the point I want to make here is not the usual, common analogy that has been worn-out, whipped and repeatedly "beatin like a dead horse"... "It took you time to put the weight on, don't try to lose it overnight" (Although it's very true). 

I'm going to pull a far greater, far more powerful lesson out of this.

So sit up, eliminate distractions, and take a few notes.

Think with me for a moment about your "normal" day.

When do you wake up?

When do you go to sleep?

What are the usual foods you consume? (Do you eat the same breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? Snacks?)

What's your usual state of mind: happy, sad, bored, depressed. etc?

Do you exercise?

The bottom line here is:

What consistent, habitual, SYSTEMATIC pattern do you operate in day in and day out?

The key word here being "systematic". As in... performing a pre-set number of activities in a pre-set order.

Whether you conscious of it or not (most are not), you do have a daily system in place. Over time that system has created the results you are now unhappy with.  (I.E. Your heaping mounds of humiliating tummy fat.)

And here's the grand idea you should write down and magnet to your refrigerator:

It's not just one thing that has caused that nasty fat... but a series of things that you consistently do day in and day out.  You got a bad system!

If you want to lose weight you need to stop focusing on the single "magic-pill" random acts of weight loss... and implement a system that will take you to your desired goal.

In marketing, every TRUE expert (The guys who make the BIG BUCKS) has come to a point where they realize that the handfuls of cash aren't going to begin rolling in just by focusing on a few random activities (placing ads, making a few cold calls, dropping-in a few HOT prospects).  The only way the moneys commin is by implementing a kick-ass system that incorporates all of these things in an effective way.   

And so it is with those trying to lose weight.

A few random acts of weight loss (no dessert tonight, a walk around the block, didn't eat all the stuffing this Thanksgiving) are not going to get the job done.

You must take the best techniques and systemize them. 

That means - from the time you wake up in the morning to the time you go to bed at night you follow a pre-determined set of steps that assure you're headed in the right direction. 

And you follow them day-in and day-out until the goal is achieved.

The benefits...

Less confusion, faster results, and a level of refreshing clarity that allows you to sleep better at night.

So that's just a bit of what I have to share with you.
