Why
Propylene
Glycol In
Your
Skin Lotion Is Giving You Abnormal Tummy Fat?The
original article that started this little brew-hah is called "Is
Lotion Making You Fat?"
Anyway...
If
you struggle with your weight... or the thought of getting cancer
scares the hell out of ya... then the following short article is a MUST
read.
Here's why. I'm going to show you
why the propylene glycol found in almost ALL skin lotions is killing
your hormones, adding abnormal tummy fat, and setting you up for
disease!
Let's begin...
So I
received a question from a friend of mine a few days back (We will call
her Joanne to keep her identity safe.)
And the
question she shot to my email was fantastic. A real heavy
hitter. (There are actually people who read these blog
posts!)
Anyway... the question she
shoved into my inbox read...
"I was relieved my body lotion
didn't have
any of the ingredients you listed as 'poisonous,' (referring to this
article)... however the XXXXXX Treatment Gel I use did
contain 1 of
them- Propylene Glycol, it's one of the very last ingredients listed,
but I was curious as to your thoughts on that. Because it's used with
the product, it's driven pretty deep into the skin (largest organ)
which might be a tad concerning...?" Here
was my response...
Hey Joanne. Great
question!
Basically I am of the FIRM mindset that
any "refined" (aka man-altered) product will produce negative side
effects when it comes into contact with the body. Lotion,
medication, pills... anything! It's not just what you
swallow, but also, what you put on your skin is absorbed into your
bloodstream. Propylene Glycol is a petroleum
derivative and is absorbed through the skin at amazing speed!
And because of this property lotion companies use it to deliver the
"active ingredients" of their products through the skin. Also
Propylene Glycol is used as a "hydrater"... (more like to lock water
in!). Just imagine what would happen if you
dipped your body into a bottle of petroleum jelly. Basically
water would bead-up and roll of. Well any water on the inside
of your body wouldn't be able to escape either! This is why
companies call it a ""hydrater"" (misleading if you ask me!!!). Now virtually every company will
claim that in small doses it won't hurt anything... WHAT A JOKE! (Kinda like the fluoride and
chlorine placed in tap water... drink enough of it and it's gonna mess
your body up!) Now Propylene Glycol is also
used in Anti-freeze, floor wax and a whole slew of other industrial
type items. None of which any sane person would want to place
on their skin! Basically I'm of the sound
mindset that your body is a system. Everything is
connected. Your weight your health your appearance.
Everything. So when these poisons found in lotion are
absorbed into the skin they enter your bloodstream and slowly break
down your hormonal processes. Over time studies have found
that
this leads to abnormal fat deposits and other disease. Certainly food for thought. Definitely NOT a knock against
XXXXX. I think they do a lot of good in many ways and have great
products. Better than most! But it's your responsibility as a
consumer and an advocate of the product to do your research and NOT
just take the companies word for it. I've fallen into this
trap many times. But am getting better! Basically Every company is
driven by MONEY to some extent. Which is a great
thing! But it does tend to muck some stuff up. Awesome to hear from ya JoAnne!
Talk
soon,
Jason
