Omega
3 And Weight Loss Linked!Are omega
3 and weight loss related?
There's an abundance of
evidence that leaves little room for doubt.
In this
article I'll touch on a few studies that just may leave you thrilled,
plus I'll share the science behind why omega 3 can be such a potent fat
burning substance.
Please note - I will most
certainly butcher these studies. That's why I'm not going to
go into detail here. Most of the time people just get lost in
the details anyway.
What I am going to do is bring
the "main" points out.
That's more important anyway.
So pay close attention.
A
study conducted at the University of South Australia consisted of
several groups of people. Each group performed moderate
levels of aerobic exercise (things like walking and jogging).
Point is, all the exercise was pretty much identical for all
groups. Only difference was that each group was fed a
different type of oil.
Now. Here's the
exciting part... of all the groups, the group that was fed daily doses
of omega 3 fatty acids lost significantly more weight!
Even
more amazing is "where" they lost it.
This lucky
group showed significant signs of fat reduction specifically in their
abdomen region!
I will share why in a second.
Another
study published in the international journal of obesity produced some
startling observations as well about omega 3 and weight loss.
Once again the study
consisted of groups of people. Each was fed basically an
identical diet. Only difference was that one group was fed 6
grams of omega 3 fish oil an the other was fed 6 grams of olive oil and
other types.
The research showed a significant
increase in the metabolization of fat among the group who were fed the
omega 3's!
Put into plain English... omega 3's
seemed to increase the rate at which their body burned on-hand fat
stores.
The explanation for this is quite amazing.
It was shown that insulin levels were 50% lower in the group
that took the omega's! High insulin levels in the body lead
to excess fat storage.
Now. I could go on
and on here. There are literally bunches of studies that
point to just how amazing omega 3's are.
The point
is, omega 3 and weight loss are very much related.
And
this is something that's very easy to incorporate in your diet either
through eating more cold water fish (salmon and cod) or simply by
supplementation.

So why does omega 3 have such a profound impact on abdominal
fat reduction?
Research has found that certain
enzymes are released in the body that is fed omega 3's. These
enzymes are responsible for chewing up fat.
Something
to think about for all you experts who still teach that eating fat
makes you fat.
