Hey,
Great
question. My response is meant for the entire adult reading audience
(The person who asked was
under 18, and for those who are reading this, YOU NEED TO TALK TO YOUR
PARENT BEFORE ATTEMPTING).
I'll reveal a
little something to ya that seems to work gangbusters. But I must WARN
you, you'll have to stick with it for at least two months before the
result start to kick in.
BUT IT'S WORTH IT.
OK.
So what a lot of people will tell you if you want a smaller butt hips
and thighs is that you should do "HIGH REPETITION" squats or other leg
workouts. The idea being that high reps is more of a "toning" effect
and low reps heavy weight is more of a "bulking" effect. Now, don't get
me wrong, these high reps is certainly beneficial... but I don't
believe it's your BEST option. (Please
note - their are many option guys. Many. For any
situation. I recommend you get multiple input before you make
a choice)
Reason is simple...
I've
just seen to much evidence that tells me there's a better option B. So
take the following knowing that it's based on my experiences. Which I
have a lot of working with many people.
OK, so if
you have a "big butt" hips
and thighs runs in the family, much of it
will be genetic. It is a "bone structure" issue. Your hip bones and
that region in general are designed to carry that type of mass in that
region. Does not mean you're fat, it's just your structure. (I can tell
you're not fat because you're weight is excellent and you are tall)
- (This girl was 5'8 - so
it was not a question of being "overweight" - not at that height)
So
what I've observed to work great is to do something that "elongates"
the muscles and promotes a "leaner" look in that region. I'm pretty
well convinced that YOGA is among the best for this. (Yes, I've been doing this for the past
three months and the results are quite phenomenal)
LISTEN.
Weight lifting is a "muscle contractor" it promotes growth. YOGA and
such forms is "stretching and elongating". It's hard to get a grip on
this... but it addresses the muscle in a different way than weights. (Lifting
weight is not, in my opinion, the best to lose a big butt - if you
don't have much fat in that area - if it's just genetic related.
You need an exercise that "elongates" and stretches those muscles
to get them leaner)
Anyway,
I've seen very great "slimming" results in clients who have stuck with
a solid YOGA routine - at least three days a week for at least two
months. CONSISTENCY. That's the key. (Honestly,
I don't go more than 2 times a week and the results are still through
the roof. - But you'll have "achy" muscles the first time!)
Yes,
it's also great for losing
weight super fast, burning fat and getting a very lean
looking body. Anyway, if you are willing to try it then I'd give it a
shot.
Just one last thing, I wouldn't give up your
weight lifting. I'd just make sure that you shy away from lifting
"super heavy". As you know, heavier weight will tend to "bulk" that
butt, hip and thigh region. You want to lose a big butt.
But
give the YOGA a shot.
Hope
this helps,
-Jason
