The Vast majority of diets for quick weight loss are far too narrow minded. There are low carb diets, dairy diets, cabbage soup diets and every other diet in between. The problem with these fad diets is that they lack variety.

What does variety mean to you?

People think that the typical American diet is rich in variety. We have McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and we can go to the store and find 100 different brands of cereals.  But is this really variety?

The problem is that variety has been associated simply with the number of food choices. True variety is a measure of nutrition.
The American diet has many choices, but little nutrition. You can go to almost any restaurant, fast food or not, and the food is basically the same, loaded with preservatives and stripped of nutrient content.  Most diets are heavily influenced by the typical American diet. They lack the necessary nutrient content to promote fast, healthy weight loss.

If your diet lacks nutrient content, your body will not function properly and you will struggle to lose weight and keep it off.

How do you get nutrient variety?

Consider what the New York Times called "the most comprehensive large study ever undertaken of the relationship between diet and the risk of developing disease". This study, known as the "China Study", was a study of more than 880 million Chinese citizens!  It was a study of how a person’s diet affects their overall health and the study provided amazing insight into obesity and weight loss that is being used today.

What was the study's number one diet recommendation?

Choose predominantly plant-based diets rich in a variety of vegetables and fruits, legumes, and minimally process starchy staple foods.

Why a variety of plant-based foods?

The nutrient content consumed by eating a variety of plant-based foods is very large. Getting a large variety of nutrients allows your body to function at its highest potential. This means losing weight at your highest potential.

Many Studies have shown that people who adopt such a high nutrient rich diet lose weight far faster and healthier than those who choose other diets for quick weight loss.
