Just wanted to
continue this "comment explanation" series with what I feel to be one
of the most... IF NOT THE MOST... frustrating things for people trying
to lose weight.
At least, this is before I get a
hold of them and straiten their naive thinking out!
Anyway,
I bet you're a "chronic weight checker". You step
on the scale every day and then slam your head against the wall when
you see that it doesn't seem to be moving in the opposite direction???
If
yes, then this is for you.
Here's a recent question
I followed up on from a rather desperate women named Nany. (I
must confess, this comment was NOT posted to my website. It
was on someone elses. Yes oh yes I've found that it's quite
fun to invade other peoples websites and post comments that assist
their readers. Plus, I just so happen to believe that I best
know how to help them... All of them! No one very accused me
of being modest my Chubby little fiend!)
Her
question was...
--------------------------
I
weigh 158 and all I wana lose is 20 pounds,I lose a couple pounds and
gain it back again, ough! who can really help me out, wit something that
really works for me...thank you
--------------------------
And
my exact genius response was as follows...
--------------------------
Hey
Nany,
Jason here.
Let me guess,
your a "chronic weight checker"?
Do you step on the
scale at least 3 times per week? The problem with this is
that losing weight is NOT a linear process. That means...
your body just does not drop 1 pound every day in perfect
order. It's more like a "zig zag" decreasing line.
That means you may lose 3 pounds over the course of four days then gain
a pound back, then drop another two. And so on an so on.
That's
why most people who check their body weight three or more times each
week when trying to lose weight get frustrated.
This
is NOT always the case, of course, but it's typical in most of my
clients.
Here's the other issue that's probably
going on, I'd be willing to bet that the weight you're losing is just
mostly "water weight". Are you exercising a lot?
This
is typically what people experience when they exercise a bunch, but
don't SWITCH the base level food that they eat. Trust me...
even if you're dieting (limiting calorie intake) but not re-inventing
your diet, adding more lean proteins and vegetables, your body is most
likely NOT going to respond the way you want it to. (READ
THAT LAST PARAGRAPH AGAIN SO IT SINKS IN!)
Here's
just one tip...
Keep up the exercise, but look to
make dramatic shifts in your eating habits. For instance, one
of the major shifts that I teach is to take your current meal count
(the number of meals you consume each day) and cut each of those meals
in half. This will double your meal count each day without
increasing the amount of food you're eating. Generally speaking, this
stabilizes the weight loss and makes it a more decreasing line.
Why
you ask? For the simple reason that it's much more of a
"SHOCK" to your system. It JOLTS your metabolism and kicks it
into a more predictable weight loss cycle.
Anyway,
just food for thought.

P.S.
It's a bit hard to understand what I'm talking about with the whole
"linear" and "Zig zag" weight loss line analogy. And I don't
want to leave a link here out of respect for Adrian. So I'll
just leave you a page you can refer to if you'd like to visualize
this. Here's the page...
Hope
that little response helps all you "chronic weight checkers" out there.
This
is no joke guys. You very rarely lose weight in a linear,
straight decreasing line. There are ways to "stabilize" the
process, but even then it tends to "zig zag" a bit.
If
you want me to help you, as you very well should, then you need to try
my 5
step weight loss system. But it ain't cheap!
